Shopping Bag/ Logo Redesign

For this project we had to redesign the look of a company and create a corresponding shopping bag for the store. Dylan's Candy Bar is a speciality candy store with locations in New York, Texas, and Florida. There original site is very bright and colorful. For my redesign I tried to create a more old-fashioned, calmed logo.

Form & Comm - Book Covers

For this project we had to pick an author and design covers for three books they have written. I choose Mark Twain and although the covers did not have to be corresponding, I thought it worked for mine.

Urban Type Sketches

Here are some sketches for the urban type project. I decided to stick with the graffiti them but try to incorporate the traditional "I love NY" phrase. I am envisioning the final silkscreened on a t-shirt.

Urban Type - Pictures from NYC

While in the City I took some pictures of art I observed on the street. I found the lettering in graffiti really interested and while illustrating type that isn't traditional is a bit out of my comfort zone I think it is something I want to explore for this project.

Final Wallpaper Design

For my final wallpaper design I decided to play off of the idea of silk screen graphics. Added bonus: Customers get to learn about color theory (Yellow + Blue = Green)

Intial Wallpaper Designs

After selecting our logo we had to come up with wallpaper designs that could be used in our business's store. Here are some of my early designs.

The yellow and green one at the top got the best reaction from the class and is the one that I will go off of to make some more wallpaper iterations.

Logo Selection

From one of my sketches I created a digital version of my logo. I also created another logo (shown below) but the one above received more positive feedback from the class.

JA Logo Sketches

We were randomly assigned two letters in class and had to come up with a fictitious brand to go along with them. I came up with the company "Junior Athletes" which sells cheap, basic clothing for kids. Also like an Old Navy. Here are my initial sketches for the project:
